TURNIVA
Privacy policy
Updated 5 November 2026
This notice explains how the Turniva iOS app and this website use personal information.
Who is responsible
Turniva is operated by Baran Ipek. For account, privacy or data-rights requests, contact support@turnivaapp.com.
Account and sign-in information
You provide a phone number for phone verification, or Google provides your account identifier, email address and basic profile information when you choose Google sign-in. We use this information to authenticate you and maintain your profile. Turniva does not receive your Google password or ask to read your Gmail messages.
Profiles, tournaments and results
We process your display name, optional country, sport preference, memberships, fixtures, scores and any venue details or notes you submit. Display names and country may appear to signed-in members. Group and tournament visibility controls govern access to their contents.
Your contact-sharing choices
Your email and phone are private by default. Each verified contact has a separate sharing choice in Profile. When you enable it, other signed-in members may receive that contact through member cards and search. Turning it off stops it appearing in new responses; it cannot remove copies another person has already received.
Location
With your iOS permission, nearby searches send approximate coordinates to our server. A game you create stores its game or venue location and shares it with other members. You can decline or withdraw device-location permission in iOS Settings. Account sign-in does not require location permission.
Why we use this information
We use account and competition data to provide the service you request, including profiles, fixtures, memberships and results. We use optional location and contact-sharing choices with your permission. We process limited technical records for the legitimate interests of operating, securing and supporting the service, and retain information where a legal obligation requires it.
Service providers and international processing
Google supplies Google sign-in; Supabase hosts authentication and application data; Twilio supplies the configured SMS verification service; Apple supplies device location and maps; Cloudflare supplies this website and its delivery/security services. These providers may process information in countries outside your own. Provider contracts and applicable transfer safeguards govern that processing. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
Google user data
Information received through Google sign-in is used for authentication and the account features described here. We do not sell Google user data or use it for personalised advertising. Our use and transfer of Google user data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention and security
We retain information while it is needed to operate your account and competitions, address support or security issues, and meet legal obligations. Retention decisions consider whether the account and competition remain active, whether other participants depend on the record, and applicable legal requirements. Access controls and verified-contact checks protect private information; no service can promise absolute security.
Your rights and choices
You can edit profile details and contact visibility in the app, withdraw location permission in iOS Settings, and manage Google access in your Google Account. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact support@turnivaapp.com; we may need to verify account ownership. You may complain to your local data-protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
